It was a warm Saturday evening in downtown Denver when Hardcore powerhouse GEL rolled through with the ‘Only Constant Tour’. Fresh off the release of their latest album ‘Only Constant’, GEL is really making their mark. Just looking around the Marquise Theater at the sold out crowd you realize that “Hardcore for the freaks” isn’t just a catchy tag line. It’s a stone cold fact. Along for the first leg of the tour they enlisted Baltimore Hardcore band TRUTH CULT. I was super blown away by this group. They had the crowd going crazy for their entire set. They have a very old school style but with a fresh new take. Helping kick off the evening and getting the crowd pumped up was two of Denver’s finest, PUBLIC OPINION and DESTINY BOND. While both bands have their own unique music styles and flavor, they both can really bring the heat on stage. With bands like these representing the local scene it is no wonder that the Colorado music scene is really making a name for itself. If you had the chance to be at this show then you know it was one hell of a good time. It is definitely one that I will remember for a very long time.
